Security Insurance

Independent service from your security insurance specialists

Insurance for Security Contractors has specific requirements to ensure that the cover is ‘Fit for purpose’. If there is a gap in the bespoke covers required for companies operating in your business sector, there is the potential for claims to be declined, ruining all the work you have done to build up your company. If an incident occurs, you want to ensure that your insurance provider settles the claim on your behalf, or even in the event of an incident where you should not be held liable, protect your interests.

At Coversure Rugby, we can help you find specialist security insurance that ensures your business is protected, giving you the confidence to operate with peace of mind.

FAQ's

Getting the right insurance can be time-consuming, especially when you’re looking to insure your property, business, or a fleet of vehicles.  To simplify things, here are some answers to our most frequently asked insurance questions.  We hope they will be of use, but if you’d like some personalised help, please contact Coversure.

Your security policy will state that you need to check the insurance policies of any companies working for you. Sub-contractors may have an inadequate policy. If so, your insurance policy will be used by any claimant.

There are many rules that a court would use to decide whether a person was a ‘temporary employee’. If you have any control over their actions whilst working and, most importantly, they cannot decide to send someone else to a job instead of themselves, they would be considered an employee whilst working for you and you would be required to have them insured under your own policy.

The level of cover depends on the type of security services you provide, the size of your business, and any contractual obligations you have. Our team can assess your risks and recommend the appropriate cover to ensure you’re fully protected.

Some types of insurance such as Employers Liability Insurance are legally required if you employ staff. Other covers like Public Liability Insurance are not legally mandatory, but often required by clients and contracts.

Public Liability Insurance covers claims for injury or damage to third parties (e.g. if a security guard accidentally injures someone). Professional Indemnity Insurance protects against claims related to advice or recommendations, provided for a fee.
