Local Huntingdon employee Emma Thoday, who works as the HR Manager at Coversure Insurance Services, gave an exclusive talk at a HR Forum hosted last Tuesday by Point Recruitment. Held at the Old Bridge Hotel, the forum gave an update on family rights, work-life balance discussions and explored the latest developments in legislation and case law. Emma provided advice and ideas on successful wellbeing initiatives, and how this could enhance a working environment, followed by a Q and A with fellow Wellbeing Ambassador Donna Barnes. The forum welcomed several big-name attendees, including Hilton Foods, Savills and Luminus Group.
‘Coversure: Leading the Way’
Commenting on the success of the forum, Emma said:
“It was a great opportunity for us to showcase our Wellbeing Strategy to local businesses. It is evident that Coversure are leading the way in this area and I hope that other local businesses see the benefits of putting wellbeing high on their agendas in the future”.
Coversure: The Year of You
April 2018 officially marks a year since Coversure launched their ‘Year of You’ initiative. Based on a set of values – including learning, fitness, nutrition, wellbeing and lifestyle – the Year of You has aimed to promote a healthy work-life balance. Over the year Coversure have hosted a wealth of events including participating in the ‘Virgin Global Challenge’ in which staff walked the equivalent distance of around the world one and a half times.
The Year of You team at Coversure comprises 10 keen staff members who wish to make a difference in promoting health and wellbeing. Emma, as one of the first Year of You Ambassadors, has used her years of experience in HR – she recently achieved her Level 7 Post-Grad Diploma in HR Management – to help bring the Year of You to life. The success of the Year of You has resulted in the Coversure Board making the decision to continue with the scheme.
