‘What’s it like really like being a Coversure franchisee?’ is a question we get asked by most of our prospective franchise holders. To answer it we spoke to Coversure’s franchise holder of Bingley, Keighley and Rotherham, Reana Bashir to get the inside story on being a Coversure franchisee.

How long have you been a Coversure Franchise holder?

Since 31st March 2015.

And prior to Coversure, what was your insurance experience – you obviously had at least three years’ experience in the industry?

I’ve been in the insurance industry for over 25 years, I started off as an office junior apprentice at Colonnade Insurance brokers. My last position held was at Bluefin as a branch director in Leeds, where I ran a team of over 50 staff, I have worked in a few other companies in between.

What was it that made you decide to become a Coversure franchisee – the support, the agencies, the products?

Coversure’s head office support and the brand identity was key and the main attraction for me in terms of the agencies and products development. The support from the head office has been excellent since day one, the support has enabled me to grow the business into 3 branches.

The insurance industry has changed and developed over the last 10 years and compliance has starting to play a big part in the insurance industry. Although I have a lot of experience in compliance, Coversure took care of compliance, including agency setting up and accounts which enabled me to concentrate on growing the business.

On a day-to-day basis, how supportive do you find Coversure HQ?

Coversure has helped and supported me with all aspects of my business, from HR to marketing and even setting up a new branch. No matter what the obstacle is, Coversure has the solution and is always ready to support me in overcoming all obstacles in the way.

Recently when I decided to acquire my third branch Coversure Rotherham, Coversure set up a meeting with all the stakeholders at the head office, and we planned to ensure the transition period ran smoothly as possible.

Do they make doing business easier?

Coversure in-house systems via Datamatters and continual product development, learning and development via Aviva Broker direct has not only made selling insurance policies easier, but also made it easier to train and recruit new team members.

Would you recommend Coversure to other insurance professionals thinking of starting their own brokerage?

Yes, I sure would, Coversure provide everything from starting a business, to recruiting your team and growing your business. Coversure has a team in place who have years of experience in the insurance industry, they are dedicated in supporting you and getting your businesses on the map.

And what’s the one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting their own Coversure franchise?

If you could sum up being a Coversure franchise holder in a couple of sentences, what would you say?

Being your own boss and stay in control of your business with the support of an experienced team at Coversure, is what anyone could dream of. Being in insurance industry for over 25 years, I know how valuable the support of the experienced team at Coversure is.
