Wow. It’s hard to believe that it has already been a month since we were all together in Milton Keynes for the Coversure Conference 2018. And what a Conference it was! We broke Coversure records with over 35 sponsors and exhibitors at our morning Exhibition, during which almost 400 people networked and socialised with like-minded industry professionals. The Exhibition was jam-packed with events, from franchisee video filming, marketing presentations and two training sessions to headshots, and insurer 1:1s. Franchise holders and insurers came from around the country to the DoubleTree by Hilton, Milton Keynes, including the appearance of Coversure’s brand new office in Falkirk for their first ever Coversure Conference experience.
Special Guest: Rory MacKenzie
We were delighted to introduce motivational speaker Rory MacKenzie to the stage for our afternoon Conference to tell his remarkable story. Rory had the audience utterly captivated as he recounted losing his leg in a roadside bombing in Iraq, took us through his physical and mental recovery and demonstrated how we are capable of anything as he explained how he crossed the Atlantic in a rowing boat. It certainly put things into perspective and motivated us to aim high so we can reach our targets.
At the Conference we also celebrated our 100 Club superheroes. This year we did things slightly differently and only welcomed new entrants up to the front to collect their champagne. We welcomed Bingley, Cambridge, Ilfracombe, Milton Keynes and Teddington into the 100 Club, Forest Gate, Northfield and Nottingham into the 200 Club, Swindon into the 300 Club, Maidstone into the 400 Club and Bromsgrove and Fleet into the 500 Club. Although we only welcomed new entrants up to the front, every member of the Club should be extremely proud of what they have achieved over the past year.
Mock The Week Star Andy Parsons
As with so many years before, the Gala Dinner was really the pinnacle of the weekend with over 400 people dressed up in their black-tie finery – or Lycra, for the more daring amongst us. Mock the Week special-guest host Andy Parsons kept us in stitches during his comedy set before leading us through the Coversure Awards Ceremony.
I’d like to extend another ‘Well Done’ to all the worthy recipients of the awards; the competition gets tougher each year and all the winners should be extremely proud. For me, being able to acknowledge and reward offices that have gone above and beyond – and even having to choose out of several contenders – is representative of the strength of our individual businesses and demonstrates how so many of them are at such a high level of service and support.
Feedback for the Coversure Conference has been very positive, and we are already planning the Coversure Conference 2019. Being able to host a Conference on the scale that Coversure does really highlights how we as a business are not just pins on a map – we are a family that share the same business goals and all strive to constantly grow and develop our individual businesses.
