Fleets have feelings too

Why should you take your fleet insurance seriously? Because Fleets have feelings too!
Fleet is a collective noun. It might relate to trucks, vans, cars, motorbikes, taxis, busses even ships and planes. Nevertheless, we, the individual cars, trucks, vans, motorbikes have feelings too. You – our owners refer to your own car, truck, motorbike or van as “she” whereas we, the hard working collective, are just – the fleet.
We – the parts that make the whole have decided to stand up and be counted. We think that we should be
• Lovingly washed and polished
• Given pet names
• Parked safely
• Treated like a member of the family
• Fully insured
Just think how loyal we are. Trucks and vans trudge around the countryside, carrying people equipment and goods to their destination. We are what keep clients happy, and business moving, but we don’t get any recognition. How many times have I or one of my millions of colleagues arrived at the end of a gruelling journey, pistons aching, tyres red hot, dead bugs all over our face, only to hear our human drivers discuss their dreadful journey? It’s as though we weren’t even there!
There is a ring of change in the air. Fleets have learned a new self respect, and we want to be treated the same as non-fleet vehicles. We want to be appreciated. In exchange, we will continue to transport your goods, workers, clients, stock and family in a safe environment.
Insurance brokers understand that we matter. They have special policies that “pool” the risk. They have special Fleet Departments that look after us and make sure that we are properly insured. Insurance brokers will know whether you need to supplement your insurance policy with goods in transit cover, liability cover, or indeed a host of other insurances that you might need if you run a fleet of cars, vans, trucks, taxis or buses motorbikes etcetera. Fleet insurance is something that you really need an insurance broker to do for you because they will know where to get cheap insurance, and what specialist insurance you need for the particular fleet you run.
